WHOOOOOO is Taylor Swift’s new man? The Duolingo Owl – and definitely not Matty Healy – according to the totally not fake rumors setting brand Twitter ablaze.
Weeks after Swift’s split from long-term partner Joe Alwyn shocked Swifties and sparked several important questions like “Huh?” and “Wait, who is Joe Alwyn?” a handful of UK tabloids have recently nabbed a much-anticipated update on the singer’s love life: The 1975’s frontman/notable menthol hater, Matty Healy, has reportedly filled the newly-single singer’s “Blank Space.”

“She and Matty are madly in love,” a (definitely-not-PR-planted) source allegedly close to Swift told The Sun.
“It’s super-early days, but it feels right,” they continued, noting that while the pair “dated very briefly, almost ten years ago” timing got in the way of their romance the first time around.
“Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of Face-Timing and texting but she cannot wait to see him again,” they continued in what may be the most hard-to-fact-check sentence in the entire history of written journalism.
Swifties and Twitter users, however, were largely less-than-convinced by this odd-couple pairing, taking to social media to share which fellow celebrities they think should have “Enchanted” the pop star instead.

Amid all the tweets connecting Swift to everyone from Lana Del Rey to Tom Nook from Animal Crossing and The Rehearsal’s resident sociopath overlord Nathan Fielder (she definitely could use an NJB in these trying times) some fans began linking the singer to another bad boy – Duo, Duolingo’s very aggressive avian mascot.

“The Sun reports that Taylor Swift and the Duolingo Owl are dating,” read one now-viral post from Twitter user @noitskatelyn.
As the tweet began to gain traction, several speculated on the details surrounding Duo, who once famously proposed to pop star Dua Lipa, and Swift’s budding romance, a rustling that prompted the owl of the hour to all but confirm their relationship.
“We'll never be lost in translation,” they wrote alongside a heart emoji, referencing a lyric from Swift’s concisely-titled hit single “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).”
Lipa has not replied for comment.
So here’s to the happy couple – if it doesn’t work out at least we’ll get to savor “a breakup album in 43 different languages.”
